my final version

this is my last design for the cover.
we'll see what will be done with it and whether it will change due to the publication restrictions of the research facility.

drilling & filling

working on a cover for my brother's promotion.
the post's title descripes what he's been doing in his research and what i was visualizing for the cover.
his institute has a lot of rules for their publications.
not easy to bend them...almost finished, i'm busy with finetuning.

invitation

haar eigen flyer

made a flyer for janet's hometown exhibition.
perhaps she'll also print some posters from this design.

21 June 2009

come fly with me...

the last days were about building up walls for the expo and grids for my flyer.
the grid seems to work but still i have some minor problems i'll have to talk about with ina on monday.
break a leg!

almost everything is printed and ready for take off.
i'm also thinking of using some features from the flyer for my portfolio-layout.

17 June 2009

everybody's business

started on a first idea for business-cards.
maybe i should go on thinking about it...maybe more seriously?

licht bakken

yesterday was about silkscreening (yeah! it's alive and kicking!!!) and plotting (the new plotter is awesome! the same goes for the new papers!!!).
today was about silkscreening and plotting as well. tomorrow will be too. sounds boring?
but it totally is not! 50% of the printing work is done (excluding business-cards and exhibition flyer...).
as everyone of us knows, time is running.
so is sweat, as everyone of us knows as well.

first test with display-translucent-dingsbums-folie...

life is only black and white...

i made surprisingly nice testprints! yeehaa! and there was time to start printing big fotos 1030mm x 416mm. i also prepared my documents for starting tomorrow in the silkscreening workshop...so in this case, life is only black and white!

14 June 2009

handyman

the last few days were about buying paper and wood and remeasuring the prints.
tomorrow will be mostly about printing.

11 June 2009

shooters and packshots

today was about taking pictures of my last modificaions, buying a gradient hooded sweater and eating chinese food out of the box.
tomorrow will be about last image tuning, layouting the expo and preparing a shopping list. and perhaps shaving...

10 June 2009

production goes on...

will print - stick - take-a-foto of mom's homemade best of the world sweetness.

bob, der braumeister

perhaps i'll take a foto of this one hanging in a café... simply a nice environmental shot...

07 June 2009

bending and breaking

my stomach. after our usual 5 o'clock tea (and delicious strawberry cake...) my stomach is about to explode.
nevertheless i wish i could turn back time...

danke jürgen, dass ich dein auto fotografieren durfte!

tea time

made some minor changes and a new package design for the tea bags.

paperworks

i'm busy with testprints. usually i like surprises, but the colorvariations don't belong amongst them. tja. so it's primary about deciding which paper to choose for the posters is not easy. i want to use different papers for different styles or pieces - glossy, sketchy, satin...
besides i'm working on a grid a presentation layout.
tomorrow i'll go looking for wood for putting the prints on - i need some kind of a reinforcing carrierplate.

01 June 2009

bootcamp

so here they are. i'm done for today. again it took more time than expected. but it was worth it. i wonder if anyone ever will notice the different lacing methods on each poster...but hey, different shoes, different laces.

these shoes are made for...

have to go on with the other posters from this serie...
works better than just the graphic - at least i think so.
yet i'm not sure about the colors and things like that but i'll know by working on...
i'll have to see whether the printing raster is too small for the actual prints. tomorrow it will be tested.
thanks a lot, julia, for your shoes! ❤

31 May 2009

a night in the garage...

redesigned mike's logo this evening.
feel like a greasemonkey after such a long time dealing with this theme...

30 May 2009

pointillisme

preparing docs for printing. i guess i won't need my high quality image adjustments but hey, i like watching megagrains on 100%...

arrangements

among finetuning my work i started thinking about the final presentation.
perhaps this will help me with the problem which piece to print on which size...
not that easy.

27 May 2009

scanning

i prepared some documents at the aki this afternoon due to being able to print some of my works a little bit bigger than 10x15cm...
also i scanned some negatives from the last months. discovered a lot and experienced quite a few surprises.
some photos weren't printed an i saw them today for the first time.
actually those discoveries can be useful, some more, some less...

possible

well, it's just a sketchy proposal for our invitation.
we have to start thinking about that stuff.
or we will end up handwriting hundreds of cards and envelopes...could be an alternative as well...
